There was a time...

got this off a friend's blog...

There was a time when I believed that love could never fail -
It could take all challengers, and it would still prevail.
But on my road, I saw it stumble, and then I saw it fall -
Gone are the days when I believed that love could save us all.

There was a time when I believed that fate would play a hand -
And if I never doubted it, it would make me understand.
But on my road, I felt first-hand its cruel mockery -
Gone are the days when I believed that fate saved someone for me.


There was a time when I believed the truth was all I need -
It would shelter me from the storm, it would nurse me when I bleed.
But on my road, I saw deceit force truth down to its knees -
Gone are the days when I believed the truth would set me free.


There was a time when I viewed the world as if through baby's eyes.
I saw good round every corner, I saw many heroes to idolise.
But on my road, I saw it change into this world so dark and vile.
Gone are the days I could close my eyes, and tell myself I'm still a child.

the words are kinda thought provoking. Sometimes things like these do happen...
