Trip to Maastricht 12.10.06

Finally, I've managed to get some pictures from my trip to Maastricht, 3 weeks ago. [Jas has most of my pictures, so I'll most more when I get them...in the meantime, enjoy these... :)] It was a really good trip, other than the fact that I had to travel almost 18 hours just to reach there from Aalborg.

Train from Aalborg to Randers.
Bus from Randers to Aarhus Airport.
Plane from Randers to London Stansted.
Sleep over at London Airport.
Plane from London Stansted to Dusseldorf-Weeze Airport.
Bus from Airport to Dusseldorf station.
Train from Dusseldorf to Aachen.
Bus from Aachen to Maastricht.

But that's what you got to do if you want to travel cheap. Haha. But it was worth the trouble and the sleepless night at London Stansted. It was good seeing Jas after not seeing him for almost 6 weeks. And at the same time, I got to see my 3 JC classmates! :) Had a really good time and it was definitely good while it lasted. And it was super nice seeing some familiar faces and spending time with people from Singapore. Gave me this rather home-y feeling...and for a moment I felt like I was back home again.

(From left) Olivia, an Indonesian student at Maastricht, Wenjie, me and Liz. The guy behind is a butcher. We were out buying food for the BIG Sinagporean meal we were cooking that night.
Look at the amount of food!! We had chicken curry, beef rendang, fried rice, steamed fish, spanish omelette, fried wanton, teppanyaki "dao gay" and mushrooms. Yummy!! After all that food, I seriously had a bad tummyache...indigestion...haven had such good food in a long time!! :)
And we baked a cake!! Actually, Hong (in yellow) baked it, and it looked really nice on the outside, but when we had to slice it, we realised it was rock hard! COOKIE CAKE!
I brought a surprise for them! Even though we were one week late, we had mooncakes and after dinner the 6 of us went outside, into the cold, and played with our lanterns!! HAHA...the other people who saw us probably thought we were having some ritual or something...
Mooncake Festival in Maastricht...but it left us with a warm feeling...it was like for a moment we were back in Singapore again. :)
