Trip to Gothenburg 20.10.06 - 22.10.06

After Maastricht, Jas accompanied back to Aalborg and we spent a couple of days there. Then we left for Gothenburg, Sweden! Sweden is beautiful and surprisingly is much cheaper than Denmark! We took a ferry there for like 100 Singapore dollars for a return journey for two people, which is super cheap.
The ferry was not as bad as I had expected to be. Din get sea-sick at all. But it was SUPER windy on the deck...was almost blown away by it. But I enjoyed being on the ferry and for once not feeling sicked by the journey.
We were really hungry and we walked around looking for cheap food and in Scandinavia, eating out is ALWAYS expensive. But we managed to stumble upon this rather neat restaurant and they were having a pasta buffet!! Haha...so Singaporean culture kicks in. :) We had like 2 full pasta plates of verious pasta and salad. It was really yummy and all for just 65 kroners (8 euros) for buffet!! haha...we had our fill so we would not have to eat dinner. Kiasu-ness in Europe...but I call it practicality.
This used to be a propellor for the ship. Gothenburg has a rather famous habour and a large port. It was nice walking along the harbour and seeing the nice nice boat and ships. But of course, the wind blew perpetually against your face. I love the colours of autumn! I really do! :) If only, we could also experience it in Singapore. But other than the prettiness of it all, Autumn is not really the bestest of all seasons. It is always cold and rainy and windy and gloomy cos the sun sets so early...now I understand how people can actually get seasonal affective disorder. It is during times like these that I am thankful we have stable weather all year round and need not have to go through the ups and downs of the various seasons. It would be an interesting experience to see it, but really too much hassle to.
