Yes, I must say that beer seems to be part of the Danish culture in some way. Or rather drinking seems to be very much part of the Danish culture. On the 3rd of November, 1 minute before the hour hand hit 9pm, the streets of Jomfru Ane Gade were filled with lots of people anticipating the release of the christmas beer. Apparently, on this day, it is part of the tradition to drink and be merry and be drunk too. The christmas beer is much stronger in alcohol content and it is supposed to taste less bitter with more body. But that is what they say...

Yamil, Christiane, me, Stephie and Steffi at Jomfru Ane Gade. The white specks in the photo is
NOT snow. It was actually
SOAP generated by some soap machine to make it look like it was snowing. Bleah...thought only countries who do not experience the 4 seasons do that. Yeah...the "snow" was wet and soapy and yucky and it stuck to every single part of your body. Bleah.

This was the small truck that drove up and down the long narrow street of Jomfru Ane Gade, honking away minutes before it turn 8.59pm. See...Danish Santa Claus are dressed in blue! and they give out beer as christmas presents!

Steffi and me in our Barcadi Razz christmas hats which lights up if you press this button. Neat!

We entered this less crowded pub along the street. It was called Giraffe. And the beer they served there totally sucked. It was worse than normal Danish beer and to me, normal Danish beer already tasted quite bad. And this bottle beer cost us 39 kroners! What a rip off!

Well...but other than the bad beer and bad "snow", the night was very much enjoyable and we had lots of fun and laughs.
Skaal! :)
